This year Father’s Day is being celebrated on Sunday, 16th June 2019. India, known for its traditional rituals and values too celebrates father’s day. It is celebrated worldwide to recognise the contribution that father’s and father figures make to the lives of their children. This day is a celebration of fatherhood and male parenting.
Father’s come in all sorts of shapes and sizes; but one thing they have in common is a heart, big enough to encompass every smile and every tear, every joy and every sorrow in their child’s life.
A father who tossed his kid into the air and caught them every time, a man who took time off work to watch his son’s football game and cheered the loudest he could, a father who stayed up late watching over his sick child, a man who tried to move mountains to make his child happy, a man who wept the most when his daughter got married, etc. All these are important traits of a father. He is the one who is there when no one else is.
For most of us, our fathers are our heroes. We appreciate them for their love and guidance. A good father can set an example of strength, honour, sacrifice and most important – responsibility. This Father’s Day, let’s honour our respective dad’s for their love and the lessons they have taught us. Let’s gift them something unique to appreciate their love and make them feel special.
